Opinions on this excerpt?

I actually liked this a lot. You did a pretty good job. There were a few spots with awkward phrasing but it can easily be fixed during a revision. The only other thing that bothered me was a grave in the.sand. i would think it would be difficult to dig a grave in the sand and the second part of that is the foliage you describe. There would have to be good soil for trees and flowers to.grow. they simply don't.grow well.in sand.
